About
"de Yudasto" is a name woven with family history, a blend of my Peruvian mother's and Indonesian father's last name. It means "from Yudasto," and in that simple phrase lies the essence of my work.
Inspired by the ephemeral beauty of nature – melting ice, undulating oceans – I strive to capture the magic of constant change in my pieces. Each creation is unique, a singular moment like no other, much like each distinct ripple in water.
Like a signature at the close of a heartfelt note– these glass pieces are gifts, offered from my hands and heart.
with love,
de Yudasto
The Process
The heart of de Yudasto lies in the flame and the glass. I personally create every piece using the traditional technique of lampworking, a method that has stood the test of time since the 5th century B.C.E. With focused precision, I use a torch to heat rods of borosilicate glass – a material known for its strength and resistance to temperature changes – until it reaches a malleable state. This allows me to shape and manipulate the glass entirely by hand. This intimate process ensures that each piece carries its own distinct personality, with subtle differences that make it a truly special and individual creation.
Glass has always resonated with me deeply. It feels personal and enduring. My work explores the body and the fluid way memories are held within us. Just as our recollections shift with our state of mind, glass too is transient. Extreme heat can reshape it, and it can shatter. This fragility mirrors the human condition: hearts break, yet we possess an incredible capacity to heal and rebuild. Even broken glass can be reimagined, pieced together, transformed.

We pour our heart into creating durable and beautiful glass jewelry at de Yudasto. However, due to the delicate nature of glass, repairs may occasionally be needed. We offer a repair service for a fee of $50 per piece.
Please be aware that all sales are final, and we do not accept returns or offer refunds.
